About Our Original Films

As filmmakers we’re drawn to the lesser known aspects of Americana. Our original films often explore outside the beaten path of American pop culture; populating the screen with scenes of subcultures and the people that inhabit them.

Vannin’

For the past 40 years and running, a relatively forgotten and obscure sect of American automotive enthusiasts simply known as “Vanners” have shined up their shag carpet covered vehicular behemoths, tuned-out and trucked-in to an annual event known as The National Truck-In.

Sleeze Lake

Set among the foggy memories and ephemera of the world's largest custom van club, "Sleeze Lake" tells the story of a wild van party thrown in the middle of a fictitious resort town and the people who dreamt it up.

North Branch

Throughout the 1970s, brothers Jerry and Jeff Kellogg of Muskegon, Michigan were a force to be reckoned with in the sport of marathon canoe racing. The brothers took home consecutive wins in the 120 mile Au Sable Canoe Marathon; all while battling 15 hours of steady paddling through the night. Their contribution to the sport of canoe racing set new standards for racers to come with over a decade worth of top 5 finishes.

Hill Climb

Hill Climb offers a candid look into the nearly 100 year tradition of the Mt. Garfield All Pro Motorcycle Hillclimb. The film is a snapshot of the riders, their bikes, and the enthusiasts that camp out on the shores of Lake Michigan for this exciting historic event.

Concrete Dreams

Paulina Jimenez, Villa Park IL resident, artist and super-mom, becomes this Chicago suburbs most passionate yet unassuming skateboarding advocate. This series shows a skatepark being created from conception to completion in three segments taking place over a decade.

Here at the cabin we love what we do.

Growing up together in the industrial port city of Muskegon, Michigan directors Nick Nummerdor and Andrew Morgan share a penchant to travel the path less walked when it comes to their filmmaking and subject matter.

The pair of directors find that in between the cracks and fissures of our culture, there lies the fascinating lives and tales of American experience that are often written off as unimportant, mundane, or obscure. They have completed dozens of projects together. Their best known film Vannin’ successfully screened at numerous festivals and was a featured film on Amazon Prime in 2018.
